Testimonials of Course Attendees

I found through these modules what palliative care entails, that it begins with the diagnosis of a terminal illness and that we go with the ups and downs of the patient, till their recovery or their eventual death and ends with bereavement with the family. These modules helped me to understand how to manage pain effectively, with all the aspects covered regarding the types and their treatment. It helped me to learn about other symptoms associated, and how to effectively manage them, so that the patient can lead a good quality of life. It helped me to learn about how to communicate with the patient and their relatives regarding their disease and the best ways to answer their queries. It helped me to learn about futile interventions that are done at the end of life. It helped me to learn about dementia, which is also an essential topic, as the average lifespan has increased than previous decades and managing dementia is the need of the hour.

Palliative care course by Pallium India is a great initiative for palliative care physicians and nurses. Very lucid and comprehensive modules. Modules on pain management are awesome. Learned a lot. Other symptoms- management modules are v appropriate and to the point. Anxiety and depression screening tools are very useful. I especially loved the communication skills module a lot. Dementia modules are so well planned and step by step learnt so much. A great experience – thank you so much

I'm Dr Shanila Abdul Majid, specialised in Oral Medicine and Radiology and a PhD Scholar under KUHS, presently working as Associate Professor in Malabar Dental College and Research Centre, Edappal. I happened to enroll myself for this palliative course conducted by Trivandrum Institute of Palliative Sciences in the month of June, 2023 and found it very useful in upgrading my limited knowledge in Palliative medicine. They have incorporated it in a well organised manner for the student as to enhance and also commit oneself to Palliative care. What was more interesting is how each topic was provided with apt guidelines and criteria assessment and also meticulously testing our understanding with each course end by the question and answer session provided until we managed to correct our concepts precisely. This course is designed for those candidates who want to explore in depth of what Palliative medicine and care is all about. Highly recommended one. Thank you to the team for accomplishing this feat
